01 Oct Recipe: Pink Kisses Smoothie Bowl
In October we celebrate all things pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here’s a smoothie recipe by raw food chef and recipe developer Sara Jansson to add colour to your breakfast!
To me, healthy food is food that brings you joy because it looks beautiful, tastes delicious, and is good for your body. This smoothie combines all three: you become happy by just looking at its vibrant color, it tastes heavenly, and the superfoods beetroot and ginger are great for your body!
Plant based & refined sugar free smoothie bowl
Ingredients
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen raspberries
½ raw beetroot, peeled
1-inch fresh ginger, peeled
Toppings
3 blackberries
¼ cup popped quinoa
2 pieces persimmon, plums or pumpkin
2 slices yellow beet
Dried edible flowers, to taste
Directions
- Combine all smoothie bowl ingredients in a blender jar and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.
- Pour into a bowl and add toppings.
Tip: Use small cookie cutters to create stars or other shapes of fruit. It makes your smoothie bowl even prettier and brings a smile to your face!
