Yamuna Body Rolling for Better Posture
Good neck posture starts with proper ribcage alignment. The ribcage plays a crucial role in movement and posture, as it connects to the neck and shoulders through muscles, ligaments, and nerves. When misaligned, it can lead to shoulder, neck, and back pain.
This workshop focuses on restoring ribcage alignment, allowing the head to return to a neutral position, the shoulders to open, and the arms to relax. Using Yamuna Body Rolling techniques, we’ll systematically release tension, elongate muscles from origin to insertion, and promote a more balanced posture. Experience deeper, more effective stretching and leave feeling lighter, taller, and more aligned!

Workshops With Javier Velazquez
One Island South
Sunday 2 March | 10am- 1pm, 2pm- 5pm
Joe’s Reformer
Monday 3 March | 2pm- 5pm
Joe’s Got Your Back, Hips and Legs
These workshops will unpack Joseph Pilates’ complete, original Reformer sequence, delving deeper into series including Rowing, the Long Stretch, Long Box and more,
to understand the logic trail behind how he constructed the work. Uncover the original approach to arm and back work, glute activation and even the head and neck, as
integrated into every exercise. This promises to be a transformative day, following the trail of Mr Pilates’ thinking. Suitable for all Pilates instructors and experienced clients.
About Javier Velazquez: Javier has been doing Pilates for over 39 years. He has practiced under many trainers and following different approaches, from the classical styles to the contemporary ones, before they were called that way. Javier did his teacher training as a protégé of Romana Kryzanowska, and apart from Romana, he has also sought the knowledge of the original students of Joseph Pilates like Mathilde Klein, Mary Bowen, and Sari Mejia. Since 2004 he has been researching the methodology, the equipment and the exercises and has been teaching it fully since. Along with Pilates, Javier had a dancing career. He was a graduate of the Royal Ballet School and London Studio Center and danced with the companies Kol-u-Demama (Israel), The Israel Ballet and Scapino Ballet Rotterdam as a soloist/principal.
