Michelle has been teaching Yoga and studying nutrition since 1999. In addition to being a certified ERYT-500 hour instructor with the Yoga Alliance, she holds two Bachelor Degrees (BS in Exercise Science and BA in Dance from the University of Iowa, USA), a Post Graduate Degree in Homeopath Medicine, and is a certified Homeopathy Practitioner from the British Institute of Homeopath Medicine. Michelle also owns her own Yoga Academy, which trains and certifies Yoga teachers across Asia. Over the last 18 years, Michelle worked as a fitness specialist for NBC studios in New York City, as a Fitness Director for a Yoga and Pilates studio in Chicago, and has taught Yoga workshops and Teacher Trainings across South East Asia. She moved to Hong Kong in January 2013.
Michelle has completed multiple Yoga teacher trainings in the USA and India, lastly in 2009 obtaining her Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from the Yoga Vidya Gurukul University in India. She has also obtained Pilates Mat and Equipment certification through Physical Mind Institute in the USA. Michelle specialises in healing people through Yoga Therapy, Detoxing/Nutrition and Homeopathy.
Her main goal in life is to live, teach and mother from the teachings of her heart and help heal as many people as she can.
Micha was first certified through the Yoga Vidyapeetham University, India under Yoga Vidya Gurukul in 2001. In order to experience and understand the benefits derived from multiple types of yoga, Micha studied with world-famous teachers, namely Yogacharya Vishwas Mandlik, David Swenson, A. G. Mohan and his son Dr. Ganesh Mohan, Sharath Rangaswamy (grand-son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois), Paul Grilley, David Life and Sharon Gannon.
As a devoted yoga teacher and student, he was guided on meditation at the Sivananda Ashram (Rishikesh, India), considered to be one of the most spiritual places in the world.
Micha uses yogic theory to support asana practice, and guides students to stretch, strengthen, relax, and improve alignment of the body, mind and internal energy flow (Prana). He puts his heart into every practice and class he teaches, while still finding time for other passions that include travelling, psychology and reading.
Lifetime Yogi, Pilates instructor and naturopath Dr Abhishek, comes to Flex with the rare and covetable combination of being a Yoga and Pilates instructor and has more than 10 years of teaching experience. A practicing yogi since year 2000, Dr Abhishek is a doctor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences and a certified STOTT Pilates instructor. He focuses on alignment, developing suppleness, stability and strength, with an emphasis on injury rehabilitation.
Jessica holds a Masters of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition and has over a decade of experience working within the wellness industry. She became a registered yoga teacher in 2001 and it was her yoga journey that moved her to Asia in 2006 after being invited to work as a full-time instructor in Shanghai. During her time in China she also trained in Pilates becoming a certified Polestar Pilates Instructor in 2013 Jessica previously worked as the Wellness Director at one of Asia’s leading health resorts in Koh Samui, Thailand and managed Hong Kong’s largest natural medicine dispensary. Although she spends a lot of time off the ground practicing and teaching Aerial Yoga, Dani also carries the spiritual teachings of the yoga philosophy and qualifications both in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, which she gained through intensive studies in India. She is a certified 200-hour E-RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and 500-hour RYT instructor with the Yoga Alliance. Her most recent training took her to Goa, India where she studied at Abhinam Yoga Center under Namito, a long-term student of Swami Satyananda, B. K. S. Iyengar and Osho – all highly respected and renowned Yoga figures.
Dani's aerial journey began in 2009 in pole fitness and continued onto aerial arts and aerial yoga shortly after. She completed her Beginners to Advanced Pole and Aerial Fitness qualifications under K. T. Coates, one of the founding members and President of the International Pole Sports Federation, and gained her Aerial Yoga qualifications through Aerial Yoga UK with Devi Kaur who teaches around the world.
Dani has teaching experience in Scotland, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
KookHee was born in Korea and adopted to Sweden at a very early age. While traveling in India in 1994, she was introduced to Sivananda Yoga and a few years later, she started practicing Ashtanga Yoga. In the practice of Ashtanga, KookHee felt she had found her yoga path: a continuous flow of poses, like a dance. Certified by Yoga Arts in Bali and Byron Bay, KookHee has studied with many great Ashtangis including Pattabhi Jois, and has taught in Costa Rica and Hong Kong over the past 15 years. She offers the balance of a strong training background with the softness that naturally comes with being a mum.
